Are there still membership dues?
Ambassadair no longer requires membership dues. We are happy to offer our programs and trips without extra fees.
When will I receive my final documentation?
Final documentation will be sent approximately ten (10) days prior to departure.
Do I need to purchase trip insurance?
Optional Travel Protection may be purchased and is strongly recommended in order to avoid penalties in case of trip cancellation. Coverage includes Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption, Emergency Medical and Emergency Medical Evacuation/Repatriation, Trip Delay, Baggage Delay and much more. This is a brief description of benefits, certain terms, conditions, limitation and exclusions apply. The cost of Travel Protection will automatically appear on your invoice unless Ambassadair is notified in writing prior to final payment that you do not want it included. The cost of Travel Protection plan depends on the cost of the trip purchased. Your Ambassadair Travel Counselor can provide you with specific pricing. Travel Protection is through Travelex Insurance Services and must be purchased with Ambassadair no later than at the time of final payment. Ambassadair cannot be held responsible for policies enforced by Travelex Insurance Services. The Travel Protection Plan is underwritten by Transamerica Casualty Insurance Company, Columbus, Ohio; NAIC#10952. You may view a copy of the Description of Coverage.
For day trips by motorcoach, Cancellation Waiver is offered. This covers any penalties incurred by changes or cancellation up to 24 hours prior to departure. The Cancellation Waiver may only be purchased at the time of booking and is valid for new bookings only on selected trips.
Are tips and gratuities included?
The customary gratuity to the Ambassadair Travel Director and driver is not included on our trips. Such gratuities should be extended on a voluntary basis and not done as a group.
Can special dietary needs be handled?
Many special dietary needs can be accommodated on an Ambassadair trip with advance notice, but cannot be guaranteed. Certain locales make some needs harder to accommodate than others. We will do everything possible in communicating your requests to hotels and restaurants.
Can I bring a wheelchair or motorized scooter?
Wheelchairs and certain types of motorized scooters may be accommodated on some Ambassadair trips. It is best that you inquire for the specific destination and trip you are interested in. In general, the international community does not adherre to the same accessibility guidelines that the United States does. Additionally, some tours involve considerable walking in older sections of cities or cobblestone streets. Collapsible wheelchairs are more widely accepted.
