For those committed readers of my Journey letter, you’ll remember that I recently used an Aesop’s fable, The Tortoise and the Hare, to describe the state of the airline industry. And while I don’t want to make a habit of doing this, someone reminded me of another tale that wonderfully reflects the story of ATA. To read more, click here.

ATA is going coast to coast. Starting October 26, 2003, ATA will fly daily nonstops between San Francisco and Newark, New Jersey. It’s part of a major service expansion ATA is rolling out this fall.

Now travelers on both sides of the nation will have a true choice for cross-country trips. ATA has honestly low walk-up fares with honestly no minimum stays. Compare that to what traditional airlines offer, and you’ll see why, even coast-to-coast, ATA is an honestly different airline.

Call 1-800-I-FLY-ATA or visit ata.com for low fares and reservations.

At a time when many airlines are cutting back business flights, ATA is increasing our New York area schedule. Now travelers can choose from 19 nonstops every business day.

New flights include nonstop transcontinental service from Newark to San Francisco, plus increased nonstops to Chicago-Midway and Indianapolis.

“This is in response to our business travelers’ needs,” said Rick Larsen, ATA Vice President of Marketing. “Our passengers asked for a heavier schedule and the airline has delivered.”

ATA is celebrating our fifth year of service at LaGuardia. We also operate several daily nonstops from convenient Newark International Airport.

It’s about to get a little easier to do business in Chicago. Starting this fall, ATA is heavying up its schedule to great business destinations. With added flights to the New York area, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Denver, and the great convention city of Las Vegas.

And just to show we’re not all work, ATA is introducing service to Ixtapa, Mexico. We’re also increasing our schedule to Phoenix, Ft. Myers and Guadalajara, too.

This fall, ATA will become the only airline to offer direct, same-plane service from Indianapolis to Honolulu. We’re also introducing nonstop flights to Miami. There’s increased service to other Florida cities and Chicago-Midway, too.

ATA is proud of the growth we are experiencing in cities across the nation. But the fact that we now offer the most destinations out of our hometown Indianapolis may be what makes us proudest of all.

Ixtapa, Mexico is ATA’s latest vacation destination. Located on what’s known as the Mexican Riviera, Ixtapa is considered one of the country’s most sophisticated resort towns. World-class hotels, two championship golf courses, and one of the world’s top ten sport fishing scenes, are just some of the attractions beyond the luxurious beaches.

Nonstop service from Chicago Midway begins December 13. Ixtapa. It’s ATA’s next destination.
